I know I’m and that is why I was so delighted to find the Jim Shore Disney selection of collectible figurines. Many of my most loved Disney heroes – from Mickey Mouse to Rapunzel – are contained in the collection.

Jim Shore is definitely a world renowned designer who’s been figurine lines over the years. He blends folk art and quilt patterns with timeless skills. many of his top renowned collection is Heartwood Creek that is brimming with a range of angels, Santas and popular figurines.

Jim worked for many years as an engineer during the day to support his household even while generating his art anytime he had a spare second. The hard hard work finally worked when he joined with Enesco, certainly one of the biggest vendors of art collectible figurines and merchandise.

As one of Enesco’s leading designers, Jim was the perfect pick to bring Disney’s renowned heroes to life. Disney buffs all agree. The Jim Shore Disney collectible figurines are favorites that may be found in several of the leading retail shops about the country, as well as online.

The collection of Disney characters is long, but Jim has stepped up to the process with his standard commitment, determination and terrific skill. He’s taken the characters we all really like and helped bring them to a brand new height.

The collection consists of a number of designs. I personally really like the vintage Disney figures that Jim has developed within a black and white retro technique. His Mickey Mouse as Steamboat Willy may be the top interpretation of the original.

The Jim Shore Disney Princess collection is beautiful, too. Not only has he taken the magnificence and uniqueness of every single princess, but he is able to bring the complete movie in to the figurine with scenes embedded in to the beautiful costumes.

There is An Air Filter That Is Best for You

Tuesday, March 27th, 2012

Have you ever wondered why you usually see many small specks of dust when the sun is shining? Millions of particles and pollutants are drifting in the air merely waiting for a place to land. Subsequently, the air outside your place may be cleaner than the air found inside your home. While you may think you are opening your window to have some fresh air in, you are basically allowing more of these particles to enter your living environment. When the air disperses throughout your place, it leaves dust on your furniture. But, you must not let these dust particles control your life. (in Dutch: Solar Energy)

Many reasonably priced air purifiers are readily available. If you don’t know much about air purifiers, you need to take the time to learn about the many types that are available so you will know precisely what you need. A number of different air filtration devices are available. One type is the HEPA filter, also known as high-efficiency particulate air filter. These filters can effectively trap most particles in the air with the use of a cloth-like filtration system. The HEPA filter is a great deal more effective at trapping air pollutants than other air filters and can last a few years. Nevertheless, you may not wish to use a HEPA filter since it can be loud and it does not remove odors.

One other common air filtration device is the ionic filter. It cleans the air using ions, which give the particles opposite charges. This process of ionization makes the particles are stuck to each other where they are collected on magnetic plates. This is akin to when you rub a balloon on your head, and then the hair ends up sticking to to it. Ionic filters are desired by many homeowners as they run so quietly. Furthermore they are able to remove gases, allergens, viruses, and bacteria from even the most awful household air. The air purification system that is the most effective removing odors is a carbon air filter. These carbon air filters trap the molecules with thousands of pores that make a chemical bond. Nevertheless, they can’t remove germs or allergens. (In Dutch: Saving Energy)

Another type of filtering system is the ultraviolet light air filter. Combining it with a HEPA air purifier is the preferred choice. Microorganisms can be sterilized by UV light if they are exposed for a proper amount of time. Nevertheless, if the exposure time is not long enough, this type of air filtration system may not work efficiently. This is the reason you need to use them with HEPA air filters. As they keep the air longer, sterilization can be done. The ultraviolet light destroys microorganisms while the HEPA filter removes allergens. Another air filter option is the hydroxyl radical air filtration system. Hydroxyl radicals are really strong purifiying substances that are ever-present in the earth’s atmosphere naturally. Hydroxyl radical air filters work best dealing with mold and damaging bacteria.

By reviewing the above information, you should be able to select the best air purification system for your house. Purifying your household air is an excellent way to improve your quality of living.

Where To Catch Blue Marlin

Friday, March 2nd, 2012

Many consider blue marlin fishing to be the pinnacle of offshore game fishing. The marlin offers experienced fisherman the size, strength, and power that few other species can. Blue marlins are beautiful in form and capable of incredible fighting ability once hooked. Blue marlins continue to inspire fishermen all over the globe to seekthem.

Methods

Which fishing methods and equipment a fishing crew employs to catch blue marlins depends on a few things. The size of the marlins, local sea conditions, and local customs all factor into how you successfully fish for marlin. The most common methods for marlin capture use artificial lures, rigged natural baits and live baits.

Marlin In The Bahamas

The Islands of the Bahamas have long been a favorite destination for fishermen searching for blue marlin. Bimini, which is on the eastern edge of the Gulf Stream, has a storied past of marlin fishing done by Ernest Hemingway and Michael Lerner. The Bahamas has a long history of marlin fishing dating back to the 1930s and 1940s. These islands are also home to the Bahamas Billfish Championship, which is the most intense, competitive tournament series in marlin fishing.

Outer Banks

Another great place to find marlin is here in the United States. The Outer Banks of North Carolina have long been renowned for their blue marlin fishing. The proximity of the Gulf Stream and of the continental shelf edge in this area create a good combination of current, blue water and ocean temperature that attracts a wide variety of game fish including blue marlin.

Hawaii

Blue marlins are captured on rod and reel in the Hawaiian Islands more than anywhere else in the world. More than sixty fish of over 1,000 pounds have been caught in Hawaiian waters. The town of Kona on the coast of the Big Island is internationally famous for its marlin fishing. This town also is the home of the Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament (HIBT).

Record Marlin

In the fishing community a 1,000 pound fish, or “a grander”, represents the benchmark for a truly outstanding catch. For most marlin anglers a 1,000 pound fish represents the catch of a lifetime. Due to increasing commercial fishing in the world’s oceans it seems this type of catch will only become more and more of a rarity. The record for largest sport fishing capture is a 1,805 pound pacific blue marlin caught in Oahu, Hawaii.

Blue Marlin fishing generates millions of dollars from tourists worldwide. Far more revenue is created by sport fishing as opposed to commercial fishing. Awareness of the need to conserve marlin worldwide has led to an increasing trend of recreational anglers to release their catches in as healthy a condition as possible. Panama fishing charters are a great way for beginners to explore the world of marlin fishing.

Where Black Marlin Are Found

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

In terms of fishing folklore, few species have a reputation as large as the black marlin. Having been used as characters by both authors Hemmingway and Grey, this species enjoys the profound respect of fishermen worldwide. Black marlins are almost always found living in the deep seas of the Pacific and Indian Oceans. It is a highly migratory species that while living in vastly deep waters, rarely dive deeper than a hundred feet. They also tend to migrate towards such underwater structures as continental shelves and reefs. Due to its incredible size and strength, the black marlin, as well as the blue marlin, is a sought after prize by fishermen worldwide.

Black Marlins vs. Blue Marlins

Black and blue marlins are commonly mistaken for one another. Usually this happens when a fish is caught weighing less than 100 pounds. There are a few noticeable differences between blue and black marlins, however, that can be easily detected. One of the main differing characteristics of black and blue marlins is that a black marlin has a pectoral fin that, when pressed on, will not fold over. Another character trait difference is that the bill of a black marlin tends to be much shorter and heavier than a blue marlin. The black marlin is also the only marlin that has non-retractable fins on its body.

Physical Characteristics

The black marlin has a distinguishing slate color that gradually transforms into a silver underbelly. When excited, it may also display light blue stripes on its sides. Some black marlin specimen have also shown a glossy, silver sheen all over their body, leading some in Hawaii to dub this species the “silver marlin”. Black marlins can mature up to 15 feet in length and have been recorded weighing in at an astonishing 1000 pounds. However, male black marlins are in general almost always smaller than their female counterparts. For example, it is extremely rare that a male black marlin exceeds 300 pounds. To eat, research shows that black marlin use their long, sharp bills to devour their prey.

Trolling for Black Marlin

If you are trying to catch a black marlin there are a few tips you will need in order to be successful. First, it has been shown that a great way to catch black marlin involves live baitfish, trolling, and rigged bait. If you then are fortunate enough to lure a black marlin onto your hook, you are in for a very serious challenge. Fights with black marlin have been known to go on for several hours before either the angler or the fish give in. Also, if you have gotten a black marlin on your line you might also be lucky enough to see one of them majestically leap from the surface of the water early in your battle.

Demand for Black Marlin

One consequence that large scale commercial Black Marlin fishing has had on black marlins is the gigantic strain it has put on fisheries across the globe. Due to the decline in stock, many are now required by law if they catch a black marlin, to tag and release it, even though the species, including the Blue Marlin fishing, has not yet been labeled as endangered or threatened. In terms of consumption, black marlin is readily available in the United States in refrigerated or frozen food sections of markets. In japan, black marlin is highly coveted in the famous sushi markets. Conversely, however, some countries have banned the fish from being consumed by the public due to its high levels of mercury and selenium.
