The Lightweight Fishing Tackle Perfect for Heavy Weight Anglers
Monday, March 19th, 2012One of the most modern and cutting edge aerial type center pin fishing tackles is the J.W. Young and Sons Bob James Lightweight Fishing Tackle. The construction of this equipment is described as having a spoked design with two ball bearing racers where the spool runs. While this is not a pure center pin design, this innovation makes this rod one of the best ones in the world today.
The back plate of this fishing tackle is machine constructed, giving this equipment a lightweight feel. Also included in its features is a click check system and micro adjustable disc drag set-up. Unlike other fishing tackle designs with standard cages, the center pin of this rod does not have any of the normal cages with it. The diameter of the rod is 4” with a depth of 1” and weighs in at just 200 grams. These features classifies the reel as one of the best in the market in terms of weight to power ratio.
All the fishing tackle reels have their own serial number and certificate of authenticity. The reel’s body used solid aluminum bar stock as its material and it also has a dual bearings system that is very easy to maintain despite of being highly efficient. its handles can be separated and it also has an on/off ratchet which can be controlled by a radial lever system. Overall the reel is strong as it was anodized, simple, and allows great efficiency on the water.
This center pin also provides great control of the line during the pulling process because of its quick release spool mechanism. A hundred yards of 20lb line and 300 yards of 8lb monofilament line can be accommodated by this fishing tackle with great control and ease.
The story of this fishing tackle maker is quite a handful. James William Young who was born in 1870 in Redditch was the first owner of the company. His father was a fishing reel maker so he can be considered to have been literally born to do this job. He started innovating long established designs after he learned the craft of creating fishing reels which led to the development of the Aerial reel. At the young age of 16, he was able to create the smallest full working model bicycle with over 400 individual hundred handmade parts. Before he created his own shop, he worked as the supervisor for real production of Allcock. From there, two of his sons joined the family business to produce different models of fishing reels not only for their own company but for other fishing reel companies as well.
Young passed away after a tragic accident, therefore leaving the business into the hands of his three sons. The shop closed during the Second World War but upon its end, it was able one of the greatest improvements in fishing tackle was made and was called the Ambidex Reel. The success of the company grew more and more as it continued to successfully create fishing tackle for both beginner and professional anglers.
